    About the Role…

    The Manufacturing Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations, is responsible for leading a team of two supervisors and ~100 employees in a Lean manufacturing environment. There are two manufacturing managers that will divide the teams for optimal execution and focus. The Manufacturing Manager will lead objective development, budgeting and planning, organizational development and drives attainment of manufacturing objectives in safety, quality, service, and cost.  

    The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of operational KPI’s in safety, quality, service, and cost (OEE, yield, labor, adherence/attainment, first time right (FTR) quality) consistent with Beech-Nut and Supply Chain strategies and objectives.  The Manufacturing Manager will be an action-oriented, engaging, and inspiring team leader, driven by a passion for continuous improvement.  

     

    About the Team…

    The Operations Team is comprised of diverse individuals who bring a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of Beech-Nut Nutrition’s LEED® certified production facility. The team implements processes and programs to optimize production capabilities, supervises production activities to ensure adherence to BNN ethics and safety procedures, develops production plans and staffing schedules, and general oversight of maintenance of the machinery and equipment. The team works collaboratively to make sure every aspect of production is running efficiently and effectively so we can continue to do what we do best – making high quality, safe, and nutritious foods for babies and toddlers!

    About the Work Environment…

    This is an on-site position that is located at the Amsterdam, New York LEED® certified production facility. As a manufacturing location, this position will require one to be in an environment that requires hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection safety shoes and lab coat. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails and other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.  When performing administrative job functions, it is in a well-lit, environmentally controlled office environment.

    • Develops and ensures a safe work culture. 
    • Drives results through relationships built on mutual trust and respect with all manufacturing associated and support areas.
    • Lead and motivate team(s), coach and mentor associates to support training and development. 
    • Sets the tone for employee engagement, conduct monthly business reviews with all plant employees.
    • Develops short-and-long range manufacturing goals to support company strategies and objectives.
    • Develops lean expansion plans for your area of responsibility in conjunction with the Manufacturing Excellence Manager.
    • Plans and directs production activities to drive effective customer service, quality, safety and cost.
    • Ability to develop, implement and visually display and effectively communicate manufacturing KPIs to track performance
    • Reviews and analyzes production, quality, maintenance, and operational data and information to determine opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Collaborates with engineering and maintenance to evaluate effectiveness of equipment and methods in order to improve manufacturing outcomes.
    • Leads the development and delivery of personnel development plans.
    • Ensure plant sanitation and develop systems to ensure operating standards are followed.
    • Participate in local, state, and federal regulatory agency inspections.
    • Collaborate with HR Business partner to resolve personnel issues, conflict resolution and documented disciplines, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Conducts hearings to resolve grievances with the local Union Committee.

    What You’ll Need…

    • 10 years’ progressive experience in (lean)manufacturing, including processing, packaging and maintenance within the CPG industry, preferrable Food and Beverage or,
    • Associates degree and 6-8 years of experience in related field
    • Technical ability to work within highly complex and dynamic manufacturing environment BS/BA in related discipline such as engineering, operations/supply chain management strongly preferred 
    • Conceptual and practical experience with Lean Principles and experience implementing facets of a lean program

    Pay: The annual base salary range for this in-person role is $100,000 - $130,000. This is a salaried-exempt position.
