Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes. Being a Lean Manufacturing Specialist employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Specialist also requires training and Lean certification through an accredited organization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Lean Manufacturing Specialist typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Control and maintain production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
    • Implement and maintain manufacturing methods to support the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost priorities.
    • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
    • Uses own judgement and suggests solutions within boundaries drawing on prior experience for straightforward tasks with guidance when needed.
    • Regular participation in monthly Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean Roadmap.
    • Support New Product Introduction.
    • Support CNC processes.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience).

    Desired Characteristics

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail, time management and organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
    • Basic project management skills.
    • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
    • Experience with NC Programming/CAM.
    • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

    The base pay range for this position is  $66,000.00 -$75,000 . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for  5% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​
