The Supervisor is responsible for the manufacture of products, including direct management of 5-75 technicians in a safe manufacturing environment. Also responsible for implementation of lean/visual manufacturing techniques to maximize flow and minimize cost. Excellent communications and coordination with Project Management, Engineering, Production Planning, and Inventory are required to assure overall project goals are achieved. Position includes all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of assembly department(s) both mechanical and electrical, including manufacturing leads, hourly team members and temporary/contingent workers.
Design work cells/line for optimal flow based on stated takt times.
Assist in the overall coordination with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement and Production Planning to ensure timely delivery of finished automated components and solutions to the companies customers.
Open communication and collaboration with Project Managers, Design Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Inventory, Controls & Software Engineering and Finance are required to ensure that the companies overall program and financial goals are achieved.
Lead with a continuous improvement mindset to improve workflow efficiency, product quality, team member effectiveness, and timeliness of production schedule.
Participation in manufacturing feedback to design processes (DFMA) and providing updates/status to senior management on the flow of projects through the manufacturing system.
Active participation and leadership in the continued development of an effective safety program, lean manufacturing, and direct reports growth training opportunities to maximize team member safety and minimize liability and risk.
Conduct administrative tasks including timecard hours verification, PTO approval, scheduling workflow, employee counseling and corrective actions, yearly reviews, manufacturing operations KPI metric reporting as designated by senior mgmt.
Maintain the 6S program to ensure efficiency.
Position Requirements:
Evidence of increasing responsibility in Engineering and/or Manufacturing roles.
5 years of applicable supervisory experience in a lean/visual factory environment.
Evidence and examples of where you have led by example, and with openness and optimism.
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Experience in management of job, batch and volume production environments manufacturing complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, and robotic assemblies.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner, ability to pick up and create procedures and processes quickly.
Direct experience in lean/visual manufacturing operations and workflow optimization.
Ability to read engineered drawings, prints, diagrams and schematics.
Experience in developing and working with mfg. standards, including document and revision control.
Quality Assurance and ISO program experience a plus.
