    Stantec’s New England Transportation group is looking for a Lean Design Coordinator in Massachusetts!

    We are looking for a resourceful, organized, and committed individual with experience working in Lean and/or continuous improvement roles. This is an exciting opportunity for a person that is passionate about efficient project delivery and continuous improvement and is interested in setting the pace for their growing career. The position is based in our Burlington, MA office but will have remove work flexibility.

    What Will You Be Doing?

    As a Lean Design Coordinator, you will provide lean design coordination/facilitation and continuous improvement support to our New England Transportation team. You will play in integral part in delivering quality submissions and tracking overall project performance. You will develop and implement Lean Design and continuous improvement strategies on projects and processes. You will be an integrated member of project teams and interface internally with project managers and design teams, and externally with clients and consultants.

    Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Create and implement Lean and continuous improvement strategies for:

    Projects and project teams to ensure efficient and timely project delivery

    Clients and client teams to foster collaboration and open communication

    Stantec’s New England Transportation Business Center (BC) to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes within the business

    • Partner with project teams and business center champions to envision suitable Lean and continuous improvement strategies
    • Partner with Project Managers to deliver projects in alignment with Lean principles
    • Prepare, lead, and facilitate Lean and continuous improvement sessions, remotely and in-person
    • Create, organize, and distribute inputs and outputs for Lean initiatives
    • Schedule and book meeting rooms for Lean sessions
    • Basic use of MS Office, Mural, and continued growth of software knowledge
    • May mentor junior staff to include task assignment, coaching, and work review
    • Performs other key responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned

    Qualifications

    What Will You Need to Succeed?

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management; Technical degree or certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 10-15 years professional experience desired, though varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply as the responsibilities of the position are flexible based upon experience level
    • A valid driver’s license
    • Knowledge in Lean and/or continuous improvement
    • Experience with organizing and facilitating team meetings
    • Strong presentation skills to project teams, clients, and business leaders
    • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills in office and remote environments
    • Positive attitude with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
    • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience in delivering Lean design projects and facilitating Lean tools such as Last Planner System®, Conditions of Satisfaction, and Retrospectives is a plus
    • Knowledge and skills in design and construction is a plus
