What does a CNC Operator do? They operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints (on the job training available)
• No need to set up or program
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Check parts by following SPC recommendations
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
• Reads and interprets blueprints
• Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials in CNC machinery
• Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
• Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
• Understands and has the ability to perform tool wear offsets
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
• Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

Qualifications:

• A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are essential
• Proven experience as CNC operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Good communication abilities
• Good attendance

Physical Environment:

• Hot in the summer, colder in the winter
• Needs to be able to stand for at least 8 hours a day
• Needs the ability to lift up to 50
