Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes. Being a Lean Manufacturing Specialist employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Specialist also requires training and Lean certification through an accredited organization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Lean Manufacturing Specialist typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Process Specialist assists the Team Leader and Production Manager in effectively leading people within the department to complete work with the highest possible efficiency and quality. This position will ensure all associates understand production requirements and inform production supervisor and/or plant manager of any barriers to accomplish the goals. Daily activities include, but are not limited to, meeting manufacturing targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and 6S for the area. This role assists in manufacturing and is also a back-up resource for key processes.
Meet production and quality goals by effectively managing Helix processes and schedules. Ship product on-time to promise date.
Keep fabrication cells loaded and running efficiently using tools like Theory of Constraints.
Supply Chassis Assembly with parts. Move finished chassis and seats to warehouse. Make correct inventory adjustments upon moving parts.
Actively manage shop floor throughout the day. Help Team Leader create schedules / expectations for each area or cell; assist Team Leader in holding each team member accountable for meeting daily goals.
