Snapshot of Your Day
As an IT Project Specialist, you will be an important part of the local IT team that provides support for the Siemens Energy Gibsonton manufacturing facility. As a digital company, Siemens Energy continuously deploys and improves IT systems to support day-to-day shop operations. On a typical day, you might start by meeting with colleagues around the world to learn about the latest upcoming IT changes, then roll up your sleeves and work alongside manufacturing engineers and technicians to implement IoT solutions onto Operational Technology (OT) assets. Later that day, you might lead a diverse project team to plan and implement a factory software modernization or data center upgrade.
How You’ll Make an Impact
The Siemens Energy Gibsonton facility is a 200,000 square foot modern manufacturing and engineering facility that produces blade castings for Gas Turbine engines. Our products power the world.
As a paperless shop, IT plays a meaningful role in the success of factory operations. You will make an impact by implementing projects which support and improve the IT services we deliver, including two hundred shop floor PCs, a suite of manufacturing applications, Industrial IoT, and extensive network infrastructure. As a Project Specialist, you will be responsible for driving a wide range of IT projects. Some projects will have you managing a team, in other cases you will be hands-on and working independently. You will have ownership of the project lifecycle “from cradle to grave”. So once a solution is operational, you will work with the other members of the IT team to provide ongoing support and future enhancements.
You will also be responsible for meeting regularly with partners in the factory to stay aligned on their IT needs and delivering solutions with a customer service approach.
What You Bring
