    As an IT Project Specialist, you will be an important part of the local IT team that provides support for the Siemens Energy Gibsonton manufacturing facility. As a digital company, Siemens Energy continuously deploys and improves IT systems to support day-to-day shop operations. On a typical day, you might start by meeting with colleagues around the world to learn about the latest upcoming IT changes, then roll up your sleeves and work alongside manufacturing engineers and technicians to implement IoT solutions onto Operational Technology (OT) assets. Later that day, you might lead a diverse project team to plan and implement a factory software modernization or data center upgrade.


    How You’ll Make an Impact

    The Siemens Energy Gibsonton facility is a 200,000 square foot modern manufacturing and engineering facility that produces blade castings for Gas Turbine engines. Our products power the world.

    As a paperless shop, IT plays a meaningful role in the success of factory operations. You will make an impact by implementing projects which support and improve the IT services we deliver, including two hundred shop floor PCs, a suite of manufacturing applications, Industrial IoT, and extensive network infrastructure. As a Project Specialist, you will be responsible for driving a wide range of IT projects. Some projects will have you managing a team, in other cases you will be hands-on and working independently. You will have ownership of the project lifecycle “from cradle to grave”. So once a solution is operational, you will work with the other members of the IT team to provide ongoing support and future enhancements.

    You will also be responsible for meeting regularly with partners in the factory to stay aligned on their IT needs and delivering solutions with a customer service approach.

    • Technical Troubleshooter: Put your technical expertise to work by troubleshooting IT and shopfloor systems; Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and keeping our operations running smoothly
    • Innovation and Future-Proofing: Stay at the forefront of technologies by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments - Your recommendations will help us continually improve our shopfloor operations.
    • Connectivity and Data Mastery: Configure and maintain IIoT devices, sensors, and gateways, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and efficient data collection - You'll be a vital part of the team responsible for keeping our IIoT ecosystem running smoothly
    • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including manuals, user guides, and operating procedures - Your work will ensure that knowledge is shared optimally across the organization
    • Project Administration: budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting


    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5 years professional IT experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Solid project management skills and a proven IT skillset (including networking, cybersecurity, hardware, etc.)
    • Ability to lead small project teams and work independently.
    • Experience implementing Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, and digitalization projects.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, familiarity with data science and artificial intelligence.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels and backgrounds, from Senior Management to Blue-Collar workforce.
    • You are a curious learner, and motivated to learn about technologies and how they can be deployed to improve factory operations.
