Duties:
- Interview clients and gather necessary information for legal cases
- Transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and other materials
- File and organize legal documents and maintain case files
- Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis or other legal databases
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with drafting legal contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role
- Knowledge of law terminology and legal procedures
- Proficient in MS Office and legal software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
