Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Legal Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Director of Pre-College Services

  • The Director of Pre-College Services position is responsible for coordinating institution-wide programming designed to support pre-college students. This position will also lead the AU Gateway Experience, a unique pathway to admission to the Andrews University main campus for students who do not meet regular admission requirements. The position will also serve pre-college and high school communities in an effort to grow services offered to local communities and the North American Division.

    Qualifications summary

    Education: Master’s degree

    Experience: Must have experience with a variety of student services, including enrollment, academic advising and pre-college populations. Preference giving to applicants with additional experience working with high school students.

    Interpersonal skills: Must have excellent communication skills and work well with diverse groups of students, faculty and community members.


    Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Pre-College Services

    • Advise and support all high school students enrolled in Andrews University Courses

    • Participate in recruitment efforts.

    • Liaison with Lake Union and local public high schools

    • Manage websites, social media and marketing campaigns associated with precollege programming.

    • Participate in UG Education office summer programming.


    AU Gateway Experience

    • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the program, including the summer bridge and support services

    • Supervise academic coaches and peer mentors

    • Teach a college-readiness/skill-building course online and face-to-face

    • Manage the budget for the AU Gateway Program

    • Serve as the Chair of the AU Gateway Admissions Committee

    • Member, Pre College Advisory Council

    • Member, Undergraduate Admissions Committee


    Supervisory responsibilities

    Position will supervise support staff and student workers.

This position must be available for evening and weekend work. All applicants must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
