Legal Services Director oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to senior management and officers regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, and other business matters. Being a Legal Services Director reviews all information and prepares defense for any legal actions against the organization or advises on prosecuting lawsuits on behalf of the organization. Coordinates and reviews the work of internal or external legal staff. Additionally, Legal Services Director manages staff of attorneys. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Legal Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. The Director of Emergency Services has accountability for Emergency Services. Provide leadership and communication to the staff and physicians working within the area. Assures practice adheres to regulatory requirements. Departmental practices and processes consistently reflect high quality standards which support excellence in patient care and a safe environment for patients, employees, physicians, visitors and guests. Must assure quality standards are implemented and maintained, and processes are updated and revised as appropriate. Must manage a large fiscal budget. They must also lead the capital budget planning in their area and manage human resources efficiently. Monitor metrics to validate performance against national and system benchmarks and to ensure the delivery of competent clinical practice is consistently achieved.
