Lending Officer conducts lending activities for an assigned market or geographic area. Develops a pipeline of customers through referrals, inquiries, and outreach. Being a Lending Officer performs a due diligence review of potential borrowers, including a risk and financial analysis. Structures loan proposals, prepares credit memos, and presents to loan committee for approval. Additionally, Lending Officer may manage a portfolio of existing loans, including reviewing financial reporting, monitoring compliance with loan terms, and handling loan modifications or workouts. Ensures adherence to regulations, bank credit policies, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lending Officer work is closely managed.     Salary Range: $166,105.75 - $249,158.62 depending on experience

    Bonus Target: 15% potential incentive of base pay

    Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

    Grade: 17BC

    What you will do

    • Lead the real estate lending team to originate, process, underwrite and fund high-quality mortgage and home equity loans
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of strategies to expand the existing portfolio with loan assets that are structured and priced to meet credit union objectives
    • Recruit, hire and oversee the training of loan origination staff
    • Establish, monitor and report on operating activity and key metrics to ensure processes are efficient, reliable and compliant with internal and external quality standards, investor guidelines, and operate within established risk parameters
    • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends in the market; be proactive in changing or adding to the product and service mix in accordance with the Credit Union’s strategic, financial and member goals and needs
    • Lead a continuous improvement effort to improve overall operations, e.g. decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work collaboratively to ensure quality seamless member service
    • Collaborate with marketing, sales and branch leadership to ensure members inquiries for real estate loans are handled efficiently, creating an positive member experience
    • Develop and maintain industry relations through membership in industry organizations and active involvement in community events
    • Research, recommend and monitor vendors and business partners

    Basic Qualifications

    • BA in business, finance, accounting, or related field
    • Minimum of 6 years of real estate lending experience, to include experience with mortgage loan pricing, originations, processing and servicing
    • Minimum of seven years of leadership experience with demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team of mortgage loan originators.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with mortgage lending software
    • In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting and GSE automated approval systems
    • Demonstrated knowledge with lending regulations
    • Must be eligible for registration with NMLS
