Responsibilities: The Attendance Officer (ESSER II) provides assistance in understanding and applying required compulsory attendance laws under Section 25.085 TEC and resolving truancy, excessive absences, and tardiness problems. He/she helps take attendance at the school and operates as the charter schools contact with parents, law enforcement agencies and court personnel on matters relating to these problems. He/she also engages in dropout prevention activities working with students and parents to help students stay in school. This position may require some occasional work on Saturday’s, over the summer and some travel within the state of Texas.
