Lending Officer conducts lending activities for an assigned market or geographic area. Develops a pipeline of customers through referrals, inquiries, and outreach. Being a Lending Officer performs a due diligence review of potential borrowers, including a risk and financial analysis. Structures loan proposals, prepares credit memos, and presents to loan committee for approval. Additionally, Lending Officer may manage a portfolio of existing loans, including reviewing financial reporting, monitoring compliance with loan terms, and handling loan modifications or workouts. Ensures adherence to regulations, bank credit policies, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lending Officer work is closely managed.     Job Description

    Job Title:   Basic Non-Supervisory Police Officer

    Introduction:

    As a police officer on an Indian reservation or group of reservations subject to the criminal jurisdiction of the United States, tribal, involving Indians and / or property.  Incumbent performs a range of police duties requiring development of police knowledge and skills and requiring some independent judgment and on the spot decisions.

    Main Duties will include:

    -Drug investigations.

    -Assisting Law Enforcement staff with drug complaints, arrests and investigations as well      as any Federal, State, County and local Law Enforcement agencies in accordance with SWO Law Enforcement policy and procedure manual.

    -Drug education to the schools and Tribal programs.

    -Work with our Meth Prevention Coordinator on events/planning events. 

    -Keep records on drug data, tracking, etc.

    -Other duties as assigned

    Factors:

    -Knowledge of police methods and procedures, and of the techniques used in police work such as investigation of misdemeanors and minor felonies, traffic control, investigation of traffic accidents, crowd control, and unarmed defense procedures.

    -Some knowledge required of Federal, State, and Tribal laws.  Jurisdictional laws, rules and relationships in the area served.

    -Thorough knowledge of the Constitutional protection afforded to individuals including rules concerning search, seizure, questioning and arrest and the difference between felonies and misdemeanors between criminal and civil infractions.

    -Skill in interpreting and correctly applying laws, regulations, precedents, and other instructional or informational material to assure that proper apprehensions are made.

    -Knowledge of and certifiable in the use of firearms.

    -Knowledgeable of radio procedures and ability to operate radio equipment.

    -Must be a capable and competent driver with a good driving record, and must possess a valid driver’s license.

    -Must be able to be insured by the Tribe’s Vehicle Insurance Company.

    Supervisory Controls:

    -Officer receives supervision from the Chief of Police or his/her designee.

    -Officer must be able to deal competently with difficult situations until assistance arrives or until the problem is resolved.

    Guidelines:

    -Standard operating procedures of the Sisseton Wahpeton Law Enforcement Department.

    -Federal, State, and Tribal laws concerning crimes and misdemeanors.

    Complexity:

    -The officer is involved in all types of police activity, including dealing with civil and criminal infractions under Federal, State, and Tribal laws.

    Scope and Effect:

    -The purpose of the work is to stop illegal acts as they occur; to prevent crime through and alert, visible law enforcement presence; and to preserve the peace, safety and order within the community served through effective police action.  Effective accomplishment of assignments has considerable impact on the reduction of crime and curbing abuse of drugs on the reservation.

    Personal Contacts:

    -Contacts are with the general public, both Native American and non-Native American, as citizens and with individuals or groups as suspects or observed offenders; as witnesses, complainants, victims, prisoners, or officers.

    -Court personnel at the Federal, State, and Tribal levels.

    Purpose of Contacts:

    -The purpose of contacts are to obtain, clarify, or give facts or information related to the performance of police officer assignments.  Information exchange may include explaining the rights of accused persons, or other information of factual nature.

    Physical Demands:

    -Officer must have considerable strength and ability to pursue suspects on foot.

    -Make and maintain arrests despite possible resistance.

    -Remove heavy objects which may present a hazard (objects off highways).

    -Fight fires and make searches involving traversing difficult terrain under adverse conditions.

    -Must be able to defend self or others under physical attack.

    -Must be able to pass a medical examination annually as part of the physical examination.

    Work Environment:

    -The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potential dangerous situations, including attack with deadly weapons or physical attack.  Both indoor and outdoor work is involved.  Driving and working outside in extreme weather.  May be required to work long and irregular hours, weekends, night and frequently changed rotating shifts.  There is an ever-present danger of death or injury from physical assault or accident in the line of duty.

    Other:

    -Must have and maintain a clean record with no convictions for felonies, high misdemeanors which resulted in a sentence of six months or longer in the past twelve months.

    -Must adhere to the Drug Free Workplace policy for the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.

    -Must be 21 years of age.

    -Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
