    The Wholesale Lending Risk and Product Manager is a knowledgeable and well diversified individual who can serve in multi-faceted roles to help develop the Wholesale Lending Division. This role reports up through the Wholesale Business Development Department and will be a leader in mortgage risk management and product development initiatives. In this roll you will help built and develop a team of Risk Analysts with 60% of the time allocated to the development of residential mortgage products standards, and 40% of the time allocated to evaluating the Wholesale Mortgage Lending Division’s third-party service providers. This individual can work both independently and cohesively with others while fostering a team environment. As a leader they maintain an attitude of approachability and willingness to assist in troubleshooting with customers, Dart Bank departments and 3rd parties as needed.


    Primary Duties:

    Mortgage Loan Product & Credit Guide Development:

    • Support the Business Development Executive by partnering with operations leadership to create and maintain Dart Bank’s Wholesale Lender Product Guide and Matrices that align to the bank’s risk appetite; provide product and or credit, guidance/recommendations to leadership that balance business development and risk mitigation.
    • Develop and lead team of Risk Analysts that will monitor Investor Guidelines as well as participate in new product development initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the updating of materials for internal/external use, drafting communications, and coordinating cross functional teams to support the implementation of required updates to support new or existing products.
    • Maintain subject matter expertise to support business partners with respect to credit policy and investor guide questions related to GSE, FHA, VA, and Private Investors.
    • Provide support and recommendations in the development and monitoring of credit risk reporting.

    Third-Party Risk Management:

    • Develop and lead team to perform due diligence of Mortgage Third-Party Originators (TPOs), Appraisal Management Companies, and Settlement Agents to Approve, Renew, Suspend and/or De-activate TPO partners and other service providers.
    • Manage the Approval, Renewal, and/or De-activation process for TPO partner VA Sponsorships.
    • Create, maintain, and execute standard onboarding procedures of all third-party service providers.
    • Maintain Third-party oversight system.
    • Assist in further development and improvement of third-party due diligence requirements and related policies and procedures.

    General:

    • Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Experience/Experience:

    • 7-10 years of related professional experience in the mortgage banking industry. Preferably past work experience includes underwriting, credit risk, quality control/assurance.
    • Extensive knowledge of residential mortgage products, borrower credit, underwriting methods and standards, and the risks associated with using third-party providers in the mortgage origination process.
    • Experience leading teams of 5 full-time employees.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent experience.
    • Articulate and proficient in both written and verbal communication.
    • Understand the National Mortgage Licensing and Registry (NMLS) standards and procedures (preferred).
    • Experience with mortgage insurance, rating agencies, and/or equity analysis (preferred).
