Being a Letter of Credit Officer ensures all credit data is evaluated and adheres to bank policies and procedures in order to approve or deny applications. Provides support to lending officers and trade specialists. Additionally, Letter of Credit Officer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Letter of Credit Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Description

    Summary: Provide accurate, prompt and professional member service while promoting credit union services. Actively participate in the branch efforts to meet or exceed assigned production goals.

    Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities

    1. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of personality types.
    2. Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing, and ability to speak and present in an effective manner.
    3. Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
    4. Adaptable to changing member services requirements; including scheduling flexibility, self-motivating, and ability to multi-task on different levels.
    5. Must participate in activities as assigned by Branch Vice President and/or Operations Managers to achieve branch and/or individual sales goals. Includes telemarketing, in-branch promos, cross-selling and up-selling.
    6. Ability to perform accurate complex input/output functions on the credit union computer systems that relates to account, loan, and general ledger postings.
    7. Must be able to travel and work at other branches as business needs dictate, sometimes on short notice.
    8. Must be able to travel to different locations to attend training classes.
    9. Must at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
    10. Provide accurate, prompt, courteous and efficient service to credit union members.
    11. Maintain a satisfactory performance record; including balancing, attendance, and sales referrals.
    12. Performance of daily duties in compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    13. Inform members about additional credit union products and services.
    14. Must achieve assigned individual sales goals and actively participate in all branch efforts to meet or exceed assigned production goals.
    15. Maintain security of all cash, deposited items, and negotiable instruments.
    16. Answer the telephone in accordance with established phone answering sequence, using an established greeting and adhering to a service quality script.
    17. Must ensure that each interaction with members and co-workers is polite, professional, and respectful at all times.
    18. Successful completion of FSA I required training courses per the Training Development Department or as specified by SVP/RVP.
    19. Additional duties as assigned.

    1. Continuous standing or sitting for up to 8 hours per day.
    2. Reach across the teller station counter to comfortably count out/hand cash to members
    3. Intermittent bending, squatting and walking.
    4. Lifting up to 25 pounds.

     

     

    Qualifications


    Starting pay is $18.46 - $19.68 an hour depending on experience along with a great choice of benefits for full-time and part-time employees.

    The position qualifications are as follows:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    2. Must be familiar with basic computer functions and programs.
    3. Previous cash handling experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.
    4. Successful completion of required training courses per the Career Path Program.
    5. Required training courses must be completed within specified training period or as scheduled by SVP/RVP.
