A Setup Operator will be responsible for performing typical machine shop setups, and functions to support the production floor. This includes operating and setting-up machining equipment in a specialty fastener processing facility. This role will be expected to operate as the main order setup to facilitate the efficiency and improvement of current procedures. Responsibilities: Setup machining department equipment for order production Manage daily production requirements and delivery Perform first article inspections to verify part quality at setup Design and machine production fixtures and tools Review work inspections, blueprints, or samples to identify and propose machine setup and in-process improvements Maintain safe, clean, and organized equipment and workstations Support Lean manufacturing activities Support quality and daily problem-solving activities Perform other duties as assigned by management to support production team Competencies: To Perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Problem Solving: Identifies, approaches, and resolves problems in a methodical and timely manner (i.e. PDCA, 8D, etc.) Time Management: Manages and completes multiple tasks on time Innovation: Displays original thinking and creativity; Generates improvement suggestions Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written Technical Skills: Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills Adaptability: Demonstrates a remarkable capacity to adapt effortlessly to any situation, regardless of its scale Detail Oriented: Ability to be highly observant and organized in unique situations Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures Must be mechanically inclined Experience with manual machining; experience with lathes and mills Experience with CNC machining setup a plus Light to moderate physical effort required; Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds Familiar with control systems; PLC and HMI programing a plus High School diploma or GED required Must be eligible for employment in the United States Hourly Rate between $25-$30 depending on experience.
