Job Overview

Fort Worden Hospitality is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Banquet Attendant to join our event setup team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all event spaces are set up according to specific plans and standards, contributing to the overall success of events such as weddings, corporate meetings, and social gatherings. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to perform physical tasks, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

This position is a seasonal appointment with variable start/end dates between April 1 and September 30.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and break down event spaces according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, and other equipment.
• Ensure all areas are clean and presentable before, during, and after events.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, and safely transport materials to and from event sites.
• Work closely with the Banquet Captain and Event Coordinators to understand and fulfill setup requirements and adjustments.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep equipment and event spaces in good condition.
• Provide assistance to guests, staff, and vendors as needed during events.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations, including proper lifting techniques and hazard identification.
• Be available to respond to last-minute changes and provide solutions to setup challenges.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor, adapting to operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in event setup, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform various manual tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
