Letterpress Setter and Set-Up Operator jobs in Erie, PA

PHB Inc. Machining Division has a current need for a CNC Set-Up Machinist. This is a first shift, full-time position with advancement opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models
• Perform proven, complex set-ups, ability to make minor edits to programs
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as; feed, speed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
• Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
• Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmer, or others to resolve machining problems and optimize programs and tooling
• Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing
• Load parts into machine, actively observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions
• Report workpiece defects
• Determine when tools need changed
• Conduct in-process inspection
• Remove burrs and sharp edges per work instructions

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous work experience as a CNC Set-Up Operator in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with Mazak and Okuma
• Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline
• Ability to work after-hours when required
