I’m working with a leading manufacturer of Medical Device products, based in Staunton, VA and they are looking for a CNC Operator to join their team on either 1st, 2nd or their 3rd shift. This is an international client that have flourished in recent years and hiring quite heavily at the moment to take the next steps in their expansion.

Within this role you will set up the necessary tools, machines, and programs to produce, modify and/or repair production parts within required tolerances and inspect work for accuracy and quality as directed.

Responsibilities

· Reviews work orders and prints to ensure documentation is accurate and complete.

· Sets up CNC machines with the appropriate program, tooling and parameter requirements to meet all specifications.

· Maintains assigned workstation by following good 6S practices.

· Responsible for filling out inspection reports

· Coolant and positioning. Swarf removal from machines as needed.

· Tools and tooling. Follow lean/Kan Ban principles to maintain proper levels of expendable tooling. Return gages keep station tools in good working order.

· Program data sheets, Q.C. reports, final program storage procedures.

· Trains other employees to use machine shop equipment as directed by supervisor.

· Assist co-workers when necessary and notifies supervisor if it will take either party off scheduled task timelines.

· Provides support to members of the department to follow established methods.

· Maintains area safety and good housekeeping. Follows work flow in the machine shop.

Qualifications

· At least 2 years Machine shop experience

· Or a 4 year apprenticeship in Machining

· CNC Setup Experience

· Proficient Computer Skills

· Proficient with using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, vision systems)

· Strong Math skills (proficiency with decimals required)

· Must be able to work with shifting priorities and move from task to task throughout the day as needed.

· Blueprint reading experience

· Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability

· Ability to be decisive under minimal supervision

· CNC machining experience or higher level CNC operation

· Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
