Performs routine cataloging processes. Additionally, Librarian Assistant assists with maintenance and update processes for library databases, software, and systems. May perform clerical tasks related to book purchasing and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Librarian Assistant works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Key Responsibilities include:Leadership and Educational ProgrammingLead the development and implementation of engagement and educational programs centered around contemporary topics and scholarly resources, including but not limited to information literacy, the information cycle, artificial intelligence (AI), open educational resources (OERs), publishing, and scholarly communication (including publishing and copyright).Coordinate library and campus discussions on emerging topics about the role of scholarly communications to continuously engage faculty and students with innovative ideas and resources.Campus PartnershipsEstablish and nurture collaborative partnerships across campus to promote scholarly communication and engagement topics.Work closely with librarian liaisons and faculty to identify areas of mutual interest and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.Faculty and Student SupportCollaborate with librarian liaisons to provide guidance and support for faculty and students in the areas of scholarly communication practices, AI tools, Open Educational Resources, and copyright-related matters.Offer workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one consultations to facilitate the integration of these topics into curriculum and research.Librarian Liaisons at Krueger LibraryDevelop and deliver library instruction sessions for assigned liaison departments.
