LIBRARIAN develops and maintains a collection of books and other materials and provides research and reference support to library users. Researches publications and suggests new sources and offerings for acquisition to enhance the collection. Being a LIBRARIAN performs cataloging and creates bibliographies and metadata to classify the library's collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials. Designs and delivers research support processes and services to ensure that groups and individuals can access requested materials. Additionally, LIBRARIAN distributes up-to-date information on new acquisitions, library activities, and services. Oversees the selection and maintenance of technology infrastructure and tools used in the library. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The LIBRARIAN occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. We’re seeking your advisory skills to join our research and analysis team to help deliver creative solutions to complex problems.

    As a library sciences intelligence expert, you’ll bring your critical thinking and research knowledge as we uncover schemes and scenarios that will provide historical conclusions as well as model future events and correlations. You’ll work with a development team to use emerging technologies including data science to process metadata and content for discovery purposes.

    You’ll provide the client with support for the planning and implementation of traditional foreign intelligence research. You’ll use critical, information-based research and analysis to relay findings to decision-makers.

    You’ll work closely with a team of trusted advisors who share knowledge and findings including the development and mentoring of others on technical analysis and discovery tradecraft that drive change.

    You Have:

    • 3 years of experience with library sciences
    • Experience researching foreign air, space, or cyberspace topics of interest
    • Experience with internet or research tools and resources
    • Knowledge of IC databases and their role in aiding intelligence analysis
    • TS/SCI clearance
    • HS diploma or GED

    Nice If You Have:

    • Experience with libraries
    • Experience with inter-library loaning
    • Knowledge of a foreign language
    • Bachelor's degree in Library Sciences

    Clearance:

    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
