Job Summary
Illinois State University's Milner Library seeks an innovative, forward-thinking, and collaborative Outreach and Student Engagement Librarian for a renewable 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position.
The Outreach and Student Engagement Librarian, reporting to the Head of Instruction and Student Engagement, focuses on outreach initiatives and programming that promote academic success and lifelong learning for Illinois State students, faculty, staff and the wider campus community.
Primarily the Outreach and Student Engagement Librarian will collaborate with key areas / programs / services across the University.
This highly collaborative position will work closely with the Student Success Librarian and the Director of Marketing and Communications.
With student learning and teaching as a main focus, outreach efforts closely link to established information fluency competencies, learning outcomes, and various data to inform programming, initiatives, and assessment.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$58,000 - $66,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
1. A degree from an American Library Association-accredited graduate program or an ALA-recognized international equivalent.
2. Coursework, robust knowledge of, or experience in outreach and engagement activities for a variety of student populations.
3. Strong service orientation and the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, colleagues, and the public.
4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a strongly collegial and participative environment.
6. Ability to manage diverse assignments in a rapidly changing organization.
7. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience implementing initiatives to better understand and identify user or student needs.
2. Experience with teaching information literacy / fluency including lesson planning, assignment development, creating digital learning objects, and / or assessment.
3. Experience and commitment to using assessment tools for evidence-based decision-making.
4. Experience incorporating assessment data to improve instruction and demonstrate student success.
