SALARY : $20.83 - $20.25 per hour

AA Degree - $.50 per hour extra

BA Degree $.75 per hour extra

QUALIFICATIONS :

REQUIRED : (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to proficiently read, speak and write both Spanish and English
• Grade 'C' or better on

District administered

Thurstone Employment Test

Keyboarding accuracy at 45 wpm on

district administered test

• Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and many interruptions
• Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
• Must work within the designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
• Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to keep accurate records
• Mechanical aptitude for working with various types of audiovisual equipment
• Interest in literature and books and ability to read orally with expression
• Ability to lift and shelve books continuously for extended periods of time
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and parents
• Experience working with elementary school age school children

DESIRED : (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

• Previous library experience and / or experience with automated circulation systems
• Experience with current library information technology including on-line and CD-ROM

searching in Windows and Macintosh platforms

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Assists the Library Media Specialist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning library media center; Works with staff to coordinate use of the library media center;

Attends library clerks' meetings, workshops, in-service or technical trainings as requested by Library Media Specialist or Principal.
