Description

• Assisting library patrons of all ages with effective use of library facilities and resources.
• Creating and maintaining patron library accounts.
• Circulating books, audio visual, and other library materials.
• Providing reference services to the public.
• Assisting in the use of public computers, copiers, and other technology.
• Accurately completing financial transactions.
• Returning borrowed items to correct location on shelving.
• Maintaining branch’s cleanliness and organization. 
• Planning and presenting programming to all ages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with technology including Microsoft Office, online retrieval of information, and the ability to learn library applications such as eBooks and other digital downloads.
• Excellent customer services skills.
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work is performed in a busy library setting, subject to moderate noise. Must be able to move about the library, transport weight up to 25 pounds, communicate, and use equipment such as a computer, telephone, digital equipment and scanner, microfilm reader/printer, fax machine, and photocopiers. Must be able to retrieve library materials from tall shelves.
