The Library Services Coordinator reports to the Student Technology and Library Services Manager and oversees the daily operations of the Aurora Downtown and Aurora Fox Valley Campus Libraries while implementing the mission and vision of the Waubonsee Libraries.
Responsibilities
Support the
Aurora Downtown and Aurora Fox Valley Campus Libraries by delivering front-facing
services and providing guidance to students in utilizing college technologies.
Coordinate schedules and coverage for the
Aurora Downtown and Aurora Fox Valley Campus Libraries.
Coordinate tasks and responsibilities among circulation
assistants and library specialists to ensure effective service delivery.
Provide staff training on library policies,
procedures, and customer service standards.
Conduct staff training on library software
applications and hardware.
Collect and analyze statistics related to
library usage and resource utilization at the Aurora Downtown and Aurora Fox
Valley Campus Libraries.
Assist in the development and implementation
of outreach strategies to promote library resources, services, and events to
the college community.
Participate in the annual goal-setting
process and contribute to the development of the department budget.
Perform duties and complete projects as
assigned by the Student Technology and Library Services Manager.
Support the campus libraries.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in related field. Proven track record in
effectively coordinating tasks and responsibilities among library staff to
ensure exceptional service delivery. Experience in providing
staff training on library policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
Two years’ library experience, preferably in
an academic environment.
Demonstrated ability to
manage schedules and coordinate coverage for library operations.
Ability to travel between campuses, work
evenings and weekends.
Excellent customer service skills; strong
interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong
technical aptitude with experience working with software applications such as
Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps.
Experience with library software applications
and learning management systems preferred.
Knowledge of and skill working with
historically underserved student populations.
Understanding and commitment to the service
role of the library in a learner-centered environment.
