Library Services Coordinator oversees library service offerings designed to meet the needs of a specific user population. Ensures resource availability and implements new programs to meet service gaps. Being a Library Services Coordinator assists groups and individuals in locating, delivery, and obtaining materials. Establish and maintains cooperative agreements between the college and area libraries. Additionally, Library Services Coordinator graduates from an ALA-accredited school. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Library Services Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. SUMMARY
Under direction of the administrator, responsible for the management of the elementary school library program; acts as a resource for certificated staff; and other job-related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
Prepares purchase orders for new library materials and maintains records on purchases and acquisitions; processes incoming library material for circulation; types a variety of library related materials such as reports, bibliographies, forms, schedules, and letters; gathers and records statistics relating to library use and materials; prepares lists of overdue books and notifies students; checks books in and out of circulation; receives payment for library fines; assists in periodic inventory of library materials; maintains library supplies and orders as necessary; answers the telephone and answers questions about the library, or refers callers to the appropriate source; may be required to maintain library accounts; assists students in the use of the library; supervises and maintains discipline among students using the library; supervises and instructs students assigned to work in the library.

Knowledge of standard library practices, terminology, and procedures; inventory and recordkeeping procedures; correct English usage, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic. Knowledge of a variety of computer software. Ability to assist students in the selection of library materials; maintain discipline among students using the library; keep accurate records; train and supervise student assistants in library practice, terminology and procedures; establish and maintain cooperative working relations with teachers, students, and others contacted in the course of the work; follow oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Some library experience desired. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. "Successful bilingual or American Sign Language applicant will be paid a monthly stipend of $96. This stipend will be pro-rated for positions that are less than 40 hours per week."
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical skills including fractions, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to choose among a limited number of alternatives in solving routine problems.
