PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversee student services, including student registration, transfers, student discipline, truancy, and district-wide attendance reporting. In addition, oversee data submitted to the State of Texas via the Texas Education Agency, the collection and reporting of district information regarding discipline, and attendance to TSDS as required by the state. Collect and oversee all data submitted to OCR. Oversee all district and campus data relating to attendance, discipline, sub-populations and enrollment. Serve as the point of contact for parent complaints, Level II grievances, and expulsion hearings. Respond to questions from campus administrators regarding attendance and discipline issues. Oversee the District Truancy Officer, serve as the District Title IX Coordinator and Chair of SHAC committee. Work closely with District PEIMS office to ensure accurate reporting.

Public School Administrative experience required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrate knowledge of state requirements for district PEIMS reporting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the district student accounting Skyward software, OnDataSuite,TSDS, TWEDS and TREx.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software to develop spreadsheets, word processing, merge documents and Power point.
- Import/export transfers of files.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in the areas of training, organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to creatively problem-solve and meet established deadlines.
- Possess knowledge of school processes, policy and school law.
- Remain current of school attendance, PEIMS Data Standards and Student Accounting Handbook and state mandates.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
1. Conduct meetings with administrators, directors, principals and school staff on attendance, discipline, and compliance validation matters.
2. Attend PEIMS training to stay current on requirements.
3. Prepare district attendance, discipline, and OCR data for submission to TEA.
4. Process data through ISAM software via TEA website.
5. Train campus attendance clerks and registrars regarding attendance procedures, records retention and TREX (Texas Records Exchange).
6. Generate reports from OnDataSuite and TEA software for validation.
7. Implement procedures for improving collection of data in student accounting software (Skyward and OnDataSuite).
8. Develop and/or revise District Discipline Manual.
9. Assist with the development of the Student Handbook, Student Code of Conduct and District Procedures Manual.
10. Serve as the District Title IX Coordinator for concerns regarding discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment or gender-based harassment.
11. Serve as the Foster Care liaison and oversee Pregnancy Related Services.
12. Responsible for the oversight of the district’s bullying and harassment investigations. Train campus administrators in investigation procedures. Conducts investigations on campus as necessary.
13. Explain how to read and interpret the attendance reports.
14. Generate reports from TEA software for validation.
15. Review error listings and reports for reasonableness and oversight compliance.
16. Distribute reports to district staff for view and validation of data being submitted to PEIMS.
17. Review information requirements from TEA on audits for attendance, discipline or leaver collections for the district.
18. Train all principals on attendance, discipline, and Validation updates.
19. Ensures district compliance with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local Board policy.
20. Coordinates the DAEP Placement processes and Expulsion Hearing processes, to include the conducting of expulsion hearings.
21. Point of contact for parent complaints and advise/ support administration on policies and procedures as needed.
22. Serve, as needed, as level II designee for grievances and complaints in accordance with FNG(LOCAL), DGBA(LOCAL) and GF(LOCAL).
23. Point of contact for police arrest reports; maintains and disseminates reports, as required by law.
24. Serves as the district representative on Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA), and Communities in Schools (CIS).
25. Develop and implement student transfer procedures, policies and guidelines.
26. Serve as Chair of SHAC committee and develop and/or revise and implement the Student Wellness Policy.
27. Assist and oversee student registration process and procedures.
28. Develop and implement procedures for increasing student attendance and Oversee staff responsible for attendance and truancy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee student registration, student transfers, student discipline, conducts regular truancy prevention, and registrars’ meetings/trainings and submits required reports. Train, advise and support administration on policies, procedures, discipline, complaints, truancy, and attendance.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; prolonged sitting; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel.
