Library Services Manager manages the daily planning, staff, and operations for the acquisition, classification, maintenance, licensing, and distribution of print and digital materials to meet the information needs of library users. Coordinates process to research, review, identify and procure new materials to develop the library's collection. Being a Library Services Manager performs cataloging and creates bibliographies and metadata to classify the library's collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials. Develops and oversees support, service, and technology resources to ensure that groups and individuals can access requested materials. Additionally, Library Services Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Library Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. We’re looking for a friendly, creative Youth Services Library Assistant to join the team!
Are you a social media user who loves finding new ideas on Pinterest and TikTok and posts regularly on Facebook and Instagram? Ideally, you’ll also have experience with Canva (to help make event flyers), WordPress (to help update the library’s events calendar), and Polaris (our library management system).
Your time at the library will also be filled with some of the duties of our Circulation Desk Assistants (checking items in and out; helping patrons find items; placing items on hold), with an emphasis on customer service, marketing and assisting with our YS Librarian’s needs (may include helping develop programs, assistance with reporting, etc.)
Hours are full-time, Monday through Friday, approximately 9 to 5, with some evenings and weekends. Starting pay is $16.74/hour. This position is open until filled.
Required: HS diploma or GED
Required: Library circulation desk assistant experience or equivalent.
