Library Technical Services Director implements use of technology for library technical services operations. Develops policy and plan regarding materials acquisition budget, cataloging, serials and electronic licensing. Being a Library Technical Services Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Library Technical Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Minimum requirements are:
- Completion of studies earning a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science from a 4-year institution of higher education
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with the public
- Extensive knowledge of computers and computer programs
- Good managerial skills
- Adept at long-range planning and budgeting
Knowledge of Spanish and/or library experience is highly desirable.
- Starting salary – $34,500 to $40,020 based on education and experience.

- FT-35 hrs per week/one-week vacation after one year of employment, additional days added in succeeding years of employment.
