Library Technical Services Director jobs in Rock Island, IL

We are a small Township Library searching for a Director who will work 20-30 hours per week. The Director:

• Fosters a welcoming and accessible atmosphere for all patrons with excellent and friendly customer service.
• Loves to read and has a knowledge of different kinds of books and reading materials for all ages.
• Oversees the daily operation of the library utilizing technology for circulation, cataloging, and collection management.
• Supervises and trains a small group of staff and volunteers.
• Utilizes technology for the circulation and cataloging of library items.
• Collects and reports data and statistics for monthly and annual reporting.
• Schedules regular programming for youth and adults in the community.
• Attends required out-of-town quarterly meetings and regular networking gatherings.
• Has experience working in a library, in education, management or another relevant field. A library degree is a plus.
• Has excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Has a strong background in working with computers and can assist other with technology questions.

Training will be provided.

*NOTE* This is a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) and includes most Saturdays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
