Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant assists one or more physical therapists in evaluations, tests, and treatments of patients. Prepares patients and equipment for therapy and implements treatment plans as instructed, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment. Being a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant records patient's reaction to treatment and provides status reports at the end of each treatment to the physical therapist. Requires an associate degree. Additionally, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant requires State physical therapist assistant license. Typically reports to a physical therapist. Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Steps Recovery Center is looking for an energetic Licensed Therapist to join our team. The Therapist would be responsible for counseling patients and/or families with alcohol and drug dependency. This position would work as a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers and performs individual and group counseling.

    This position will carry a caseload of patients and assist them with their journey to recovery.

    Requirements:


    • Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
    • At least 2 years experience in substance abuse counseling is preferable.
    • Knowledgeable of community resources available for patients and families.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of theories and techniques of counseling and psychopathology.
    • Sets appropriate professional boundaries.
    • Must have a current License
    • 1 year sobriety

    As a therapist, you will be expected to further develop the clinical curriculum. The treatment team will support you on this. Curriculum development could include AA or NA sponsored meetings and written work.
