Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care administers nursing care in a home care environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing. Monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Provide morning feeding/meds to bedbound client using feeding tube (should take less than an hour and you are paid for the hour)
Responsibilities
- Provide morning tube feedings with meds and keep record of feedings n patient care book.
- Accurately report and record the patient's condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
- Follow universal precautions whenever giving any aspect of patient care
- Follow emergency procedures in the event of any catastrophic event, incident, e.g., accident, injury or significant change in the patient's condition
Qualifications- 1 year experience as an LPN in a home care setting
- 1 year experience using a feeding tube
- Current New Jersey license as an LPN
- Graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing
- Proof of current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
