Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care administers nursing care in a home care environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing. Monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. POSITION SUMMARY- The Licensed Practical Nurse/Vocational Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing skilled nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- They perform selected skilled actions in the provision of curative, rehabilitative, palliative, or preventative nursing care.
- They are responsible and accountable for making decisions that are based on the individual’s nursing experience and educational preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Current State LPN or LVN License
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
- Has one (1) year of nursing experience. Community/home health or medical/surgical experience is preferred.
- Possess and maintain valid CPR certification.
- Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order and insured per the organization's requirements.
