Licensed Practical Nurse - Long-Term Care administers nursing care in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Long-Term Care ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing. Monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Long-Term Care requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Licensed Practical Nurse - Long-Term Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Responsibilities:
The LPN is accountable for the delivery of safe and therapeutic resident care from admission through discharge in collaboration with the physician, family and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Delivery of quality nursing care is assured through utilization of the nursing process. The goal of resident care shall be toward restoring and maintaining each resident’s capabilities at their maximum mental and physical level. The LPN serves as a positive clinical role model for staff as well as a resource person.
Requirements:
- Current license for Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
- Currently certified in CPR, Long-term care experience preferred.
