Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical Management coordinates with healthcare providers and plan members to maximize member benefits while managing costs. Assesses medical necessity of patient admissions, surgical and diagnostic procedures, and other related services. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical Management conducts pre-certification or authorization, and monitors compliance with established medical guidelines and policies. May assist members in appeals for denied services. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical Management requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Job Summary
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician.Job Responsibilities- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
- Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
- Performs plan of care interventions.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
- No experience required
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse and eligible to practice in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position
