Licensed Practical Nurse - Occupational Health administers nursing care in a workplace environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides on-site health services, including taking vital signs, bandaging wounds, administering medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Occupational Health monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. May administer flu vaccines and conduct annual employee physicals. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Occupational Health requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Licensed Practical Nurse - Occupational Health's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Job Overview:

    Licensed practical and vocational nurses provide basic medical care, such as checking a patient's blood pressure

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    · Recording Vital Signs.

    · Administering Medications.

    · Collecting Samples for Routine Lab Tests.

    · Leadership, Supervision, and Proper Patient Interaction Skills.

    · Assisting Physicians with Patient Examinations.

    · Recording Patient History and Personal Information

     

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    · Graduate of a practical (vocational) nursing program for LPN/LVN and has a current license as a LPN/LVN for the state of CA

    · At least 1200 hours of experience as an LPN/LVN

    · Able to perform and provide evidence of current CPR certification for adults, children and infants.

    · Able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of the workforce, both clinical and non-clinical.

    · Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions or tasks.

    · Able to read and interpret technical instructions related to the care of the patient.

    · Able to visually and aurally observe and assess the patient.

    · Able to effectively deal with multiple changes based on patient needs and scheduling.

    · Able to provide proof of valid driver's license, if applicable.

    · Proof of valid driver’s license if applicable

    · Able to provide proof of valid auto liability insurance if applicable

    · Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    · Current CPR certification

    · Meets the requirements of federal and/or state criminal and abuse background checks where applicable.

    · Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English with all levels of the healthcare team, both clinical and non-clinical.

    · Demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple functions or tasks.

    · Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with multiple changes.

    · Able to work as a member of a team, including but not limited to managing stress appropriately, making decisions under pressure, and handling multiple priorities.

    · Meets applicable health requirements to provide patient care.

    · Able to constantly travel within geographic area serviced by office from assignment to assignment.

    · Work is normally performed in a residence, aggregate living facility, school or occupational setting.

    · Heavy physical activity that may require lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling over 50 lbs., and physically stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, sitting, walking, reaching and climbing stairs.
