Takes patient history and performs initial physical evaluation of patient's condition. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Outpatient Clinic provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens. May be responsible for patient triage. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Outpatient Clinic requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Summary: Under the direction and supervision of an RN/GN, the LPN/GPN is expected to administer direct patient care to assigned patients. The LPN/GPN works collaboratively with all members of the patient interdisciplinary team. Participates in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient. The LPN/GPN observes, evaluates, records and contributes information to aid the RN/GN in the development of the patient plan of care based on age specific criteria.

Basic knowledge of IV Line tubing and changes, peripheral site inspection and care (including dressing changes), administration of piggyback medications and normal saline flushes. Current IV skills /Phlebotomy skills required. Must be able to complete the establish orientation and educational requirements. Must possess the necessary acuities to perform the essential functions of the position. Must demonstrate ability to utilize hospital computer system.
Minimum Education Required: Must be a graduate of am accredited LPN program.
Minimum Experience Required: Prefer 2 years of outpatient experience.
Licensure/Certification Required: A current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire.
