Licensing Clerk assists in maintaining records, compiling information, and submitting forms necessary for agent licensing. Performs routine clerical duties, such as filing forms and other records from licensed agents and applicants according to an established system. Being a Licensing Clerk updates database, inputs data as required. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Licensing Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Licensing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Purpose of the Role

    Responsible for all communication at the mine as designated by CO and Tracking.

    Key Role Accountabilities

    • Communication pertaining to movement and location of all persons underground
    • Responsible for all MSHA required record-keeping, notifications required by mine Emergency Response Plan and maintaining accurate and concise pass-along.
    • All phone calls to be relayed to underground or surface personnel MUST be handled through this department.
    • Responsible for monitoring site security cameras.
    • Responsible for advancement and recovery of all communication equipment and systems and maintain an approved budget for said equipment and systems.
    • One or more communication personnel must be present in the communication room at all times.

    Role Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Two or four year college technical degree preferred.
    • Must have knowledge of MSHA laws and regulations applicable to communications with the surface to underground and mine workings.
    • Must be capable of assigning tracking tags to specific miners by reprogramming them in the system at the beginning of each shift as well as system phones assigned to miners and maintain a current information database.
    • Must have knowledge of radio and phone communications, operation of radio dispatch equipment, and standard broadcasting procedures.
    • Must be able to speak clearly and concisely over the radio or phone.
    • Must have the ability to maintain a professional relationship with co-workers, supervisors and employees that are using the communications system even during various stages of emotional stress.
    • Must be able to complete tasks in a controlled, effective manner while working under stress.
    • Must have the ability to make quick and sound decisions with information available in emergencies and routine operations.
    • Must be familiar and capable of performing ERP-first point of contact.
    • Must keep and maintain accurate records along with a clean and organized work area.
    • Must keep database updated with current employees and tag numbers
    • Must be capable of maintaining / calibrating multi-testing devices, radios, and proximity devices.
    • Must be able to go underground occasionally to move and calibrate CO nodes along with any other duties that are assigned.

    Experience

    • Must become familiar with all aspects of the mine Emergency Response Plan.
    • Must possess the ability to read underground mine maps and keep current on all locations of surface and underground activities.
    • Experience in Success Factors, SAP and Kronos is a plus
    • Must maintain confidentiality.
    • Must be capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking.
    • Must be able to keep and maintain accurate records.

    Physical Requirements

    • Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours
    • Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces
    • Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom
    • Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
    • Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs / steps
    • Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination
    • Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone
    • Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents
    • Must be able to find, remove and return files to / from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person
    • Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc.
    • The job requires that you are able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, nights, weekends and holidays)
