    The Medical Board Licensing and Operations Administrator (MLOA) is a multi-faceted position with a variety of duties. The MLOA supervises the staff who support both the licensing and enforcement functions of the BMP, which licenses and regulates MDs and several other healthcare professions. In addition to supervising, key duties are overseeing all of the Board's business functions, payments & deposits, and contracts. Other duties focus on the enforcement and hearing process; the MLOA acts as the "clerk of court" for contested cases, issuing notices, maintaining the record, assisting the hearing officer during hearings, and entering reports in the federal data banks of healthcare providers. The MLOA is also the "superuser" for the Board's online system for licensing and case management, the web-based system used to distribute meeting materials, and the Board's website. The position is ideal for a person who enjoys a variety of challenging responsibilities that offer a lot of room for learning and growth.

    AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

    Environmental Factors

    Work is mainly performed in a standard office setting. Infrequent evening and evening work may be required, mainly to support resolution of system issues for other staff or users of the Board’s public-facing web-based IT system.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

    OR

    Three (3) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with State of Vermont contracting process

    Experience supervising

    Knowledge of medical credentialing and/or licensing processes

    Experience acting as the in-house coordinator for a web-based IT system for internal and customer-facing functions
