Office of Early Childhood Operations – Division of Licensing
Job Focus Areas:
This position is located within the Office of Early Childhood Operations, Division of Licensing and will report to a classified Licensing Supervisor. The person in this position will assist in planning and directing statewide licensing programs. He/she will be directly responsible for all field operations through the supervision of a regional Licensing Supervisor and the Program Manager 1-Social Services that oversees the field staff. The person in this person must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all LDOE Licensing programs in order to effectively perform the duties of this Licensing Specialist position.
The duties and responsibilities of the Licensing Specialist 1 or 2 will primarily involve the review, analysis and evaluation of facility operations for child care providers, and may include, but not limited to the following:

The preferred candidate should have work experience with state and federal publicly funded programs, skilled in reading, interpreting, and implementing laws, regulations, administrative code, and policies in licensing programs. The person in this person must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all Louisiana licensing programs in order to effectively perform the duties of this position.
**A child care criminal background check will be conducted by the LDOE on the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.
NOTE: This position will require frequent travel and the candidate selected must to possess a valid Louisiana driver's license at the time of hire (appointment).
