Summary
The Vehicle Compliance Specialist is responsible for the compliance and processing of registration procurement for vehicles in the US and Puerto Rico. The position performs accounting responsibilities supporting registration and other permit, tax and citation business compliance activities.
Essential Functions
40% Independently apply advanced vehicle registration skills and analytical research to perform vehicle and licensing compliance for vehicle registrations, including IRP (International Registration Plan) renewals, IRP tax reporting, FHUT processing and billing, audits of licensing general ledgers, electric vehicle licensing coordination, non-standard (financed) licensing, toll jurisdiction settlement management, and national customer handling. 20% Perform accounting responsibilities including ledger analysis, preparing account reconciliations and journal vouchers, and reporting compilation and analysis activities to support licensing, titling, permits, fines and citations, and federal heavy use tax. 20% Solve complex compliance issues related to the quality control of mileage, tax, citation and permit documents, and identify root cause issues to problems providing process solutions to management, customers and jurisdictions to address matters in vehicle license compliance and registration. 10% Provide guidance in standard and non-standard processes acting as a subject matter expert to Ryder Licensing and Citations team. 10% Maintain and enhance financial data and process coordination of licensing and title workflow activities between multiple data sources and the Licensing Team.Additional Responsibilities
