Life Underwriting Director jobs in Ann Arbor, MI
Life Underwriting Director directs and oversees the life insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Life Underwriting Director provides coaching to underwriters and assists on more complex applications. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Additionally, Life Underwriting Director typically requires Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) certification or Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation. Typically reports to top management. The Life Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Life Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Small Town Area Director. Leading the ministry in spiritual depth and growth to reach every student in Lenawee County. Supervise the two current part-time staff as well as 20 volunteer leaders in partnership with an incredible local committee and great church support.
Responsibilities:
- Entrepreneurial - vision to grow Lenawee County Young Life. Lenawee County is a county of roughly 100,000 people in ten small towns. The long term goal is have ministry in every town.
- Pastoral - Currently over 20 volunteers working in three high school clubs and one college club.
- Great Kid Worker - you will be very hands on with students, ability and excitement about running a great club.
- Fundraising - minimum $25K personal support and vision to raise support for the ministry.
- Heart for church partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a leader of a Young Life club
- Bachelor's degree
- Calling
- Preferably 3-5 years experience on YL field staff.
