Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect life insurance contracts. Accepts, modifies or declines a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information. Being a Life Underwriting Supervisor analyzes various rate plans utilizing the organization's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Familiar with current legislative and compliance processes affecting life insurance. Additionally, Life Underwriting Supervisor may evaluate reinstatements and changes in existing policies. May have designations or course work toward the CLU, FLMI, etc. Has a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. A lifeguard's primary purpose is to watch over Gilley Pool patrons, ensuring their safety in and out of the water. If a patron finds themselves in trouble, a lifeguard must act quickly and appropriately, often going into the water to rescue them... like a swimming superhero. Pay is an hourly rate of $13/hour for part time work at 15-40 hours per week. Employees will get to utilize parks and recreation facilities including the Milner Recreation Center and the Gilley Pool free of charge, not during scheduled working hours.
Must possess minimum lifeguard training:
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate (YMCA equivalent
acceptable)
Current American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate
Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate
Thorough knowledge of proper rescue techniques and proper use of rescue equipment.
Must be able to perform water rescues, give CPR and First Aid.
Must understand facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with the public and employees.
Ability to work flexible hours with evening, weekend and holiday work required.
Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
