Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect life insurance contracts. Accepts, modifies or declines a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information. Being a Life Underwriting Supervisor analyzes various rate plans utilizing the organization's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Familiar with current legislative and compliance processes affecting life insurance. Additionally, Life Underwriting Supervisor may evaluate reinstatements and changes in existing policies. May have designations or course work toward the CLU, FLMI, etc. Has a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. SUMMARY
The Life Skills Specialist ensures that children and families receive life skills training in a caring, competent, and responsible manner;
directs and assists families and children to available community services; and provides direct client care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing great people-centered service to biological, legal, or adoptive families with support and life skills training needed to create a therapeutic milieu in the home
Complying with Treatment Team to teach the family and client daily life skills, which include but are not limited to consistent structure and routine, utilizing community services, communication skills, tutoring, and mentoring
Working towards the permanency plan for each client in collaboration with the Treatment Team
Showing integrity by completing documentation on sessions and treatment plans for assigned children within the mandated time frames;

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience working with children / adolescents and / or families.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The Life Skills Specialist must be a licensed driver with automobile insurance in good standing and access to reliable transportation at all times.
CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent knowledge of Independent Living Skills, local community resources, referring agencies, court systems, discharge resources, and other services
The ability to communicate effectively, facilitate groups, and teach
Understanding of basic mathematics
Ability to work flexible hours consistent with program needs and work at multiple location
Exemplary organizational, communication, mentoring, and teaming skills
Sensitive to other cultures and socioeconomic levels
