Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect life insurance contracts. Accepts, modifies or declines a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information. Being a Life Underwriting Supervisor analyzes various rate plans utilizing the organization's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Familiar with current legislative and compliance processes affecting life insurance. Additionally, Life Underwriting Supervisor may evaluate reinstatements and changes in existing policies. May have designations or course work toward the CLU, FLMI, etc. Has a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Position Summary
The LifeCafe Supervisor oversees the daily shift operations in the LifeCafe. They deliver a high-quality experience to the members, and motivate staff to ensure excellent customer service. They also monitor food quality and speed of service ensuring a positive member and guest experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manages LifeCafe shift operations while making schedule adjustments based on traffic flow
Acts as daily shift leader by providing a high level of customer and team support
Ensures team members prepare menu items correctly and service customers in a professional manner
Provides promotion and disciplinary recommendations to the Manager
Manages light food prep responsibilities
Quickly and efficiently responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
ServeSafe certification with the first 60 days of hire
Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs.
Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the Cafe for prolonged periods of time
Night and weekend availability is required based on the business needs
Preferred Requirements
1-2 years of supervisor or manager experience with a food service or retail background in a high volume atmosphere
