Light Assembler jobs in Provo, UT
Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. COMPETENCIES Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
