FLSA: Non-Exempt / Open to both full time and part time applicants
Position Summary- A line cook is responsible for the preparation and cooking of all dishes going out to guests, as well as maintaining a clean working station, kitchen and building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare, cook, and assemble ingredients according to the recipes and standards set forth by the executive chef.
Perform portion control and minimize waste to the best of your ability.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work stations and meeting prep times to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
Maintain a clean work station and kitchen.
Display a high level of care for all equipment to ensure its longevity.
Comply with applicable health, sanitation and personal hygiene standards as set forth by the company.
Ensure all ingredients are stored and kept in the way that will maintain freshness for the longest period of time.
Ensure that the walk-in and storage areas are kept neat and orderly; this includes always using the smallest possible container for every item, not stacking things in a precarious manner and immediately wiping up spills as they happen.
Any other duties as assigned by chef, kitchen supervisor or management.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
High School Diploma or GED graduate.
1-3 years of cooking in a restaurant
Solid understanding of cooking methods, procedures and knife skills
Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm in a fast paced environment
Must be incredibly organized, clean and self-motivated
Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to freely access all areas of the restaurant
Ability to move quick and carefully in narrow and confined spaces.
Ability to be flexible with job demands and open minded when being asked to complete tasks.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the taproom.
Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
