Lineman jobs in Bangor, ME

Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision.     Summary:

    The Lineman position, per established policies and procedures, is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground communication lines and auxiliary equipment, including work from the central office to the customer's home. This position will require the candidate to have a general knowledge of power and hand tool operation and maintenance. They must also be able to work under various weather conditions and not be afraid of heights or confined spaces.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Candidate must have a valid State of Maine Drivers License - The position will require frequent and daily travel
