Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision.     The Role

    • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
    • Properly utilize and maintain hand tools and equipment; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks etc.
    • Properly operate mechanized equipment; bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavator etc.
    • Ensure timely completion of daily tasks
    • Provide a high level of customer service when interfacing with internal and external customers
    • Maintain safety as the #1 priority for all team members: ensuring adherence to company safety standards and all federal, state, and local laws
    • Maintain safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers, etc.
    • Complete routine inventory control and maintenance inspections (vehicle, tool and material)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • 2 Years of relevant aerial construction experience required, completion of lineman school preferred
    • Valid Driver’s License required, Class A CDL
    • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
    • Ability to safely work utilizing climbing hooks and ladders
    • Ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment
    • Ability to read and understand prints/maps, safety rules and operating instructions
    • Able to perform duties in telecommunications construction such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
    • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time
    • Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains and job sites
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
