Position Summary

The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring all tools are properly issued and maintained, and controlling tool inventory. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain tool room.
• Issue tools, expendable items, etc. to employees for use on job site.
• Maintain documentation including: daily sign in/out sheets, order forms to be turned in to management for purchasing, daily tools inspections and maintenance forms.
• Performs minor repairs to tools.
• Adheres to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must have good organizational and communication skills.

Physical Demands

Requires discretionary sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and in excess of 40 pounds on occasion. Requires occasional stooping, bending, twisting, crouching, etc. Excessive amounts of overtime and weekend work required. Exposure to extreme temperatures and noisy work environment.
